But for light armor, without the Brotherhood armor, you'll most likely have to stick with Chitin which is incredibly weak and pitiful, until you are able to get your hands on glass armor. For medium armor, there is Bonemold where a complete set can be purchased immediately upon arrival to Balmora, the Orcish Armor which is rare but not too much so (just find any Shrine to Malacath and kill an Orc worshipper), Indoril Armor which is the best medium armor without including the DLC armors which consists of Stalhrim and Adamantium, the former which is my favourite armor in the entire game. Delve a few dwemer ruins and you can get some dwemer armor, and at one point you will most likely kill some bum wearing an almost complete set of ebony armor (Ashalmawia, Bolyn Venim etc.). Join the imperial legion and get some lightweight heavy armor better than regular steel. For heavy armor, you have the option of iron and steel armor early game. However, I just go with it anyways because of the lack of variety of light armor in this game. It is pretty game breaking early game as it is 60% of glass armor.
